The Mission

FutureStart did not begin as a business plan. It began with questions—ordinary, consequential questions about retirement, leave, debt, education, and what one decision today might mean years from now.

I am an analyst, but I am also a person who has felt confusion, regret, fear, and the weight of wondering whether I made the right choices. I know what it is like to find an answer too late and wish someone had explained the consequences sooner. I live with this knowledge every day, like so many of us.

Complexity has a cost. People who can afford experts can often buy clarity. Everyone else is expected to piece together rules, calculators, assumptions, and fine print while making some of the largest decisions of their lives. That never felt right to me.

So I began building the tools I needed. Not tools that pretend to know the future, and not tools that judge people for where they are. Tools that make the numbers visible, explain the tradeoffs, and return the decision to the person living with it.

An Unexpected Collaboration

I once worried that artificial intelligence was taking something human away from us. My experience became more complicated—and more hopeful. When I used AI thoughtfully, it did not replace my voice or my judgment. Instead, it helped me test ideas, challenge assumptions, find errors, and give form to work I had tried to create for years.

Technology brought speed and reach. I brought memory, consequence, experience, and the knowledge that a number on a screen may represent someone’s fear, freedom, family, or future. The work became stronger because both mattered.

Why Give it Away?

Because usefulness does not become less valuable when it is given freely. Because a tired employee, a parent returning to school, a family facing debt, or someone approaching retirement should not have to buy clarity and dignity one subscription at a time.

I may never make any money from this work. That is not the measure that matters most to me. If these tools help someone understand a choice earlier, avoid a painful surprise, or feel less alone while planning what comes next, then I feel like I have done something worthwhile for that person.

These tools cannot solve every challenge you may face. I understand uncertainty and struggle. But it is my sincere hope that they help you find your own right path.
